"The really interesting thing about Targa is that it has public and volunteer support like no event I've ever seen. I don't know that you could do this (Targa Newfoundland) in any other province! The folks in Newfoundland are generous and put up with the inconvenience of having their roads closed for several hours. Several thousand volunteers given their time, often their holidays, to allow us to do this… You rely on the volunteers to keep traffic out of the stage and keep people safe.
