Eppie Wietzes
Wiezes began his racing career at 20 when he campaigned a Morris Minor at Harewood Acres. In his first race, he finished second.
Since then he has competed in every class of racing including Formula One and was Canadian Champion in 1969 and 1970. He competed in Formula 5000 until the mid '70s and finished 4th overall in the series, when it was collapsed in 1976.
He returned to racing in 1981 to capture the Trans-Am Championship, Wietzes continued to compete in selected Trans-Am races and is a consistent top five finisher.
Wietzes emigrated with his family to Canada from Holland when he was 12 years old and is a partner in a family owned Toyota Dealership.
In 1993 Wietzes was inducted to the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame.
