No Binoculars Required

The course for the 2008 Targa Newfoundland will cover a distance of some 2200 km, including approximately 500 km of timed Targa stages. It will require a large number of volunteer officials to ensure the smooth running of the competition and the safety of spectators and competitors.

Volunteers marshals are needed for the duties listed below. Short training courses will be provided free of charge and Targa Newfoundland Marshal Log Books, and Volunteer Hats will be issued to all participating volunteer officials.

Position Info
Stage Preparation and Security

  • Placement of security tape on gates and driveways within timed stages during competition through each stage.
  • Marshal roadblocks to prevent inadvertent entry of vehicles into timed stages.
Spectator Viewing Area
  • Direct spectators to designated viewing areas.
  • Assist spectators if difficulties arise and assistance is required.
Competitor Parking
  • Guide and direct competitor parking at meal breaks and overnight parking.
