A gold targa plate is presented to the driver and co-driver of each crew that have completed all the Targa stages within the plate time specified for their vehicle class for three consecutive years. The plate time is calculated as a base time plus a percentage depending on the vehicle and the class. The Gold plate is presented in the third year in lieu of the silver plate.

After winning a Gold plate the crew member needs two more consecutive silver plates to be awarded a Platinum plate.
